9/10 Year-Old American League Program Details

If your child turns 9 or 10 years old on or before May 1, he/she may qualify for this program. AL is more competitive and involves tryouts to be selected for a team. Not everyone who attends tryouts will be drafted onto a team. Players who are not drafted to an American League Team will play in our National League (a refund will be given - tryout fee)

  • Each team plays approximately 13 games per season.
  • The total number of teams is 6 (11-12 players per team).
  • Game nights: Monday and Wednesday.
  • Opening Day is Saturday, May 4th.
  • Mid-Season Tournament is the weekend of May31st-June 2nd.
  • End of Season Tournament is the weekend of June 28th-June 30th.
  • Pitching is done by the players.
  • The game consists of 6 innings.
  • Each player gets a minimum of 3 innings in the field per game.
  • There will be a continues battering order for each game.  The coach can make a new batting line up for each game of the season and tournament games.  
  • Strikeouts are allowed.
  • Stealing is allowed after the pitch crosses home plate. This rule is phased in during the season.
  • Distance between the bases is 60 feet.
  • A Little League baseball is used.
  • A paid umpire is used to officiate the game.
  • Game Length: No new inning will start after 1 hour 50 minutes of the 1st pitch.
