Conflict Resolution

There may be occasional conflicts between coaches, parents and referees.  As a means to address any issues that arise within our program, we have established the following procedure to evaluate situations, resolve complaints and determine appropriate action.

  • 1. If possible, issues should be resolved by the Head Coach.
  • 2. Issues that cannot be resolved by the Head Coach should be communicated to the League Commissioner.
  • 3. The League Commissioner will discuss the issue with the Head Coach and inform the Basketball Committee Chairperson.
  • 4. Depending on the nature of the issue, the Chairperson will act accordingly based upon the standards set by the Basketball Program’s Disciplinary Action Policy including escalating to the BPAA Executive Committee.
  • 5. BPAA Committee Members will be kept informed of any serious issues and any subsequent disciplinary action.

Weather Policy

BPAA Basketball follows the School District 279 policy regarding event cancellation due to severe weather.  In other words, if the Osseo school district cancels school, then all after-school activities, including BPAA Basketball will also be canceled for that evening.

If the school district does not cancel school/activities, then BPAA Basketball practices/games will continue as scheduled and families are encouraged to give yourselves extra time and take any needed precautions to ensure you arrive safely at the venue.  It is each family's personal decision to travel or not during the Minnesota winters.  Players are not penalized for missing a practice/game when families use their best judgement and remain home due to weather as long as this is communicated to your coach in a timely manner and is not abused.
