Soccer Adult & Fan Attitudes

Adult and Fan Attitudes

There have been various concerns over the past few years regarding the attitudes of fans and supporters - they are getting involved in the game as far as coaching their child from the sidelines. Parents / guardians or any member of the public should realize that it is the coach's job to instruct the players during practices and games. If the supporters would like to give positive encouragement, that is fine, but no instruction toward the game of soccer is permitted. Let's all make it a fun time for your child, and set up a good environment for your child to learn in, so they achieve the best results they can.

Adults and fans attending a Soccer game have a big responsibility. They must not:

  • Instruct players during play
  • Use technical terms
  • Shout abuse at players or coaches
  • Emphasize results
  • Be a negative distraction
  • Try to gain reflective glory from youngsters
  • Allow mismatching where one team overwhelms another
  • Praise his or her own child over any other member of the team
  • Shout abuse at the officials
  • Let siblings affect their own play during the game
