BPAA MINUTES FOR NOVEMBER,
2007
The meeting was held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the Brooklyn Park

SECRETARY’S REPORT
- Add to minutes Lynell Tanner replacing Dede
Boelter as Secretary

TREASURER’S REPORT – not present
FOOTBALL – Marcus & Callistus
- 2nd – 6th grader games at
the Dome
- Traveling to Knoxville – good experience for teams and
players – mixed comments from players/coaches/parents about tournament
overall
- Meeting next week re: pros and cons of Knoxville
& discussion re: traveling to a tournament next year
- Year-End banquet went well – 80%+ turn-out –
2nd – 6th graders – prize committee did a great job – a
lot of positive feed-back re: the banquet
- MN Bulldogs have been notified they are
not going to be accepted into the league – scheduled to come to BPAA meeting
to make an appeal re: why they SHOULD be allowed to participate in BPAA – Jan.
27th, 2008 – decision will be up to Marcus and Callistus – Dan
wondering what they could POSSIBLY do to convince BPAA we should give them
another chance – they’ve done BPAA wrong. Bulldogs are also going to see if they
can get into TCNYFL league. Whey
don’t they just play with BCYF?
- Equipment has been turned in
BASKETBALL - Jerry
- House league starting soon - #’s are down a
little – 15 teams
- Getting gym time has been working out
okay
- Looking forward to starting season
- Ad in paper for refs

- Can schedule remainder of year Board meetings –
4th Tuesday of the month should still work - Call Laurie at (763) 315-8427 Tues-Sat 1-10PM for changes in meeting

- Softball is using RecTrac for
registration
SOCCER – David
- Board meeting - elections – David Gulbrandson:
Chair – Val Leone: Vice-Chair
- Host soccer tournament for Tater Daze? Adult and child tourney in conjunction
with each other - Brainstorming
- Going over organizational details
- Sent e-mail re: policies page – will send it
again to try to get more involved
SOFTBALL – Kim & Ed
- Still in dire need of volunteers to be Board
members – recruiting
- New logo for jerseys – new equipment – general
overhaul
- Going with City for Registration also – dates
will be in Rec Book
- Possibly donate old equipment to Mpls. –
Boys/Girls Club?
- Shirts are out-dated so may just get rid of all
of them
- Equipment Mgr. quit – may have
replacement
- How to deal with lack of participation re: older
kids – bring in kids from other areas – join with other leagues? Contact surrounding areas - Basketball has had success
with this
- Budget ready by Jan., 08
BASEBALL – not present
NEW BUSINESS
- 1/22/08 – Appreciation Dinner at Edinburgh. All Board Members + significant other
invited. E-mail will go out with
menu a week before. Meeting
beforehand and then enjoyable, relaxing social time – drinks and
dinner.
- Dan has been inundated with Fundraising
Brochures – he can forward on to Football as they are doing the most
Fundraising
- Jeff Wright is the guy to talk to if you want to
get free stuff from Dick’s
