BPAA MINUTES FOR FEBRUARY, 2007

 

The meeting was held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at the Brooklyn Park Community Center.

 

ATTENDEES:

·                     Wayne Heuer, Dave Corbett, Markus Carter, Laurie Pulver, Jerry Gamber, Scott Cottrell, Dan Williams, Ed Ampe and Dede Boelter.

 

SECRETARY’S REPORT:

·                     October minutes.  M/S/P. 

·                     November minutes.  M/S/P.  As a follow-up to the broken mirror incident at Birch Grove, the basketball program was never billed.  We are assuming school insurance paid for it. 

 

TREASURER’S REPORT:

·                     01/24/07 – 02/27/07.  M/S/P.

 

BASKETBALL – Jerry:

·                     One problem they had with Developing Solutions was it couldn’t handle the volume of checks and in hindsight they shouldn’t have mailed the checks to them.  Over half the sign-ups wrote checks.  Otherwise the website was good.

·                     Junior tournament was this week.

 

FOOTBALL – Markus & Scott:

·                     Meetings for in-house and 7-8 grades.

·                     Fundraising programs discussed.

·                     Discussions for three teams for 7-8 grades.

·                     Scott is still working on fields.

 

SOFTBALL – Dave & Ed

·                     Halfway done with registration, 150 signed up.  One more registration set for 03/15 or 03/17.

·                     $20 fee for first-time player.

·                     Two 16+ under teams and one 19+ under team

·                     Going to set up fast-pitch tryouts.

 

CITY – Laurie

·                     Soccer is on board using RecTrac.

·                     Volunteer dinner is set for first week in April.

 

BASEBALL – no rep.

·                     Registration tonight.

 

SOCCER – no rep.

 

OLD/NEW BUSINESS  

·                     Bob Gluek from Kelly’s and Mad Jack’s will be at the next meeting to talk about its scholarship program.

·                     Champlin Park approached us about raising money for its senior night.

·                     Tater Daze – see about getting a business(es) to stamp their logo on little sports balls to toss to crowds during the parade?

 

NEXT MEETING is Tuesday, March 27 at 7:30 at Brooklyn Park Community Center Senior Room 2.
