The meeting was held at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at the Brooklyn Park Community Center.

ATTENDEES:

·                     Dan Williams, Dede Boelter, Dave Corbett, Ed Ampe, Valerie Leone, Laurie Pulver, Mark Palm, Tami McClure, Ronald Burg, Larry Killly, Gail Corbett, Markus Carter, and Dave Gulbrandson.

SECRETARY’S REPORT:

·                     In the last sentence of the Softball report it should be noted Ed is resigning chairmanship from the softball committee.

·                     Note Ronald Burg and Larry Killly are here on behalf of the new sophomore basketball program.  However, they will not be regular attendees.

·                     M/S/P

TREASURER’S REPORT:

·                     Have not had a balance for three months, that’s why there are interest and check charges for May, June and July.

·                     Tami found the post office box bill ($72).  Tami paid it and it will be reimbursed to her through the Admin account.

·                     Baseball concession stand has been paid off.

·                     M/S/P

BASKETBALL - Tami:

·                     Met with vendor (Ron @ Developing Solutions, Inc.) to set up handling registration and maintenance for basketball.  Basketball is doing this instead of RecTrac.  Registration site is up and running.  The system backs up daily.

·                     There was a $250 set-up fee.  A $99 host fee will be paid monthly to maintain.

·                     There will be ½% charged for checks, 2% for VISA or MasterCard.

·                     $1,450 total for the year.

·                     Asked that Tami request their security systems/firewalls/network architecture.

·                     Contract negotiation is in progress.  For now it is month to month – they’d like year to year.

·                     Players can enroll on line.  Refunds will be handled manually.  Insufficient funds will be caught.

·                     The percentage fee will not be added to fee – fee will be the same as last year.

·                     Will add a link from BPAA Sports.  Tami will send the link to BPAA.  Dave will set up the link on the BPAA Sports page (like EZScoreboard).

·                     Tami needs keys for the post office box.  Will get from Dave C.

·                     Information re registration dates is out via flyers, Community Center marquee, newspaper, etc.

·                     Will still have in-person sign ups.  Discussion if BPAA could provide a wireless router for sign-ups.  Dan made a motion.

·                     MOTION:  Approve $349* to get basketball started with Developing Solutions.  M/S/P.  (*$250 set-up fee and $99 host fee for first month.)

·                     Will have sign-up stats in September.

FOOTBALL – Markus:

·                     Everything is on the website – schedules, etc.

·                     There is a season preview on September 9.  There is a slideshow on the football website.

·                     No girls flag football this year – not enough interest yet.

·                     Will be using Northwoods fields this year.

·                     Participated in USA Classic football tournament.  Four teams were entered – did fairly well.

·                     To turn lights on at some of the parks, call Mark.

SOFTBALL – Ed:

·                     Had end-of-season picnic at Noble Park.

·                     Had appreciation dinner for the committee members.

SOCCER – Valerie:

·                     Tournament went well, overall.  The August 24 storm was a little glitch.  Had to juggle the schedule a bit to get it all done.

·                     13-15 yr old boys had an unregistered player so had to forfeit the game.  They played anyway and lost the same so it didn’t matter.

·                     A coach for U-10 girls didn’t want to play another team so forfeited that game.  Forfeited because their team had zero wins and were matched with a team that had traveling team players.

CITY – Laurie:

·                     The fields will be changed to soccer fields in September.

·                     Mark will be working on the basketball schedule.

·                     Laurie will be working on the soccer schedule.

·                     The door to the storage shed has been replaced and should be fine now.  Valerie & Markus said it’s been working.

·                     Softball and basketball interior doors stick as well.

·                     Would like a railing installed at the entrance door ramp for safety.

OLD BUSINESS – Charitable Gambling:

·                     Nothing happening for now.  Paperwork is in; just waiting.

·                     Will ask Kelly to be at the September meeting.

Next meeting is Tuesday, September 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Brooklyn Park Community Center, Armory Classroom.  NOTE BACK TO 7:30 START TIME.
