            *           M/S/P,

            *           In March there was discussion regarding payment to referee’s wives and children for the referee’s work, supposedly to avoid receiving a 1099.  Discussion

was brought up again at this meeting and a motion was made as follows:  “Checks are to be made payable to the person that referees a game.”    M/S/P.

·                     Early registration is June 1 with the rest in July and August.

·                     When Yellow Jackets for North Suburban league is set up will need a loan to order uniforms and equipment as well.

·                     Scott made a proposal to Jay for some smaller, lit fields.  Jay will look into the Brookdale softball fields.  Would use the smaller fields for younger players.

BASKETBALL – Tami & Jerry:

·                     Will have a planning session to schedule gym time on May 19.  Traveling will be there as well.

·                     Am waiting for a couple more bills related to the year-end tournament.  Need to reconcile with other schools regarding the tournament (divide up gym time, referees, trophies, etc).

·                     There was an instance regarding a coach, parent and child.  Child pulled from basketball ¾ through the season; parent wanted a refund.  Dan and the board need to be made aware of such instances.

·                     Discussed adding language on sign-up forms stating a refund will be issued before the season starts.  After the first game there are no refunds, unless due to injury.

CITY – Mark, Laurie & Jay:

·                     Mark is working on Ed and Joe’s request for fields.

·                     Kelly’s has short-term operators in place for now.

·                     Guess the cost to apply for a license would be $200 or so.

·                     Would like to have Kelly’s manager present at the May meeting to answer questions.

·                     Dan will talk to Jim Hoskins.

·                     Motion made:  “Authorization is made to spend up to $500 to apply for a charitable gambling license and file the paperwork.”  M/S/P.
