BPAA MINUTES FOR NOVEMBER 29, 2005
The meeting was held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29 at the Brooklyn Park Community Center.
ATTENDEES:
· Dan Williams, Joe Edwards, Dave Corbett, Mark Stein, Dave Gulbrandson, Ed Ampe, Valerie Leone, Wayne Hauer.
SECRETARY’S REPORT:
· M/S/P.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
· Basketball will be first up for storage shed fee. Dropping fee to $4.00/player for this year's signups.
· Parents created problems for basketball and were asked to leave the program. Refunds were given, but parents created issues because they wanted their refund checks immediately. Our policy is that the refund checks will be signed at the next regularly scheduled BPAA meeting.
· Motion was made: ALL refund checks will be approved at regular BPAA meetings. Motion was seconded and passed on voice vote.
SOCCER (Dave & Valerie):
· Appreciation Dinner was held at Mad Jacks.
· Planning meeting is scheduled for January.
· 2 new committee members were added.
BASEBALL (Mark & Joe):
· Proceeding with Traveling Coaches. There were a few issues with Babe Ruth and the misinformation that was being spread.
· Jay Lotthammer asked about having a Tator Daze tournament. Discussing with Softball. Baseball already has a tournament scheduled.
SOFTBALL (Ed):
· Softball is all moved into the new shed, including Fast Pitch.
· Several new members were added to the committee to replace two that dropped off. Softball is struggling to get volunteers. Haven't been able to fill out all of the positions yet.
· Common area in storage shed could be used for shelving or locked file cabinet to store paperwork. May be able to at least store blank sign-up forms there instead of in Dave's garage.
· Motion was made to approve up to $300.00 to purchase a shelving unit to be placed in the common area of the storage shed. Motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote. Dave will look into purchasing the unit.
BASKETBALL (?)
· 100 teams in the program this year.
· Still working on Senior High signups
· Would like to make sure that bills are approved before having them paid.
· Issue in Jr. Traveling with girl who wanted to be scholarshipped resulted in confrontation because mother didn't pay minimum amount, but the girl kept going to practices. Ultimately settled. Girl is not playing this year.
FOOTBALL ():

NEW BUSINESS (Dan):
· Elections: Motion was made to re-elect the current board. of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer for 2006. Motion seconded and passed on a voice vote.
· Motion to nominate Joe Edwards and Wayne Hauer for Director at Large positions. Motion seconded and passed on a voice vote.
Next meeting is Tuesday, January 31 at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Andrews Club meeting room at Edinburgh Golf Course.
