FOOTBALL (Markus):
*    Budget distributed for in-house, traveling (Mustangs) and heavyweight (Titans).
*    No fee increase.
*    Am looking for donations to raffle.
*    Am purchasing new jerseys for the Mustangs.  They look like NFL jerseys.  Players will keep the jerseys.
*    Am ordering new pants for the cub league.  Players will NOT keep.
*    Might have to raise the fee in the future to compensate for the jerseys.  Will wait til next year and review.
*    Will have to amend the budget to include the city fee.  410 players x $5 per player to Brooklyn Park.  Need to up the $1 administrative fee from $330 to $410 as well.
M/S/P

BASKETBALL (Tami):
*    Submitted bills.
*    Submitted checks for deposit, including Fridley Junior High reimbursement.  More checks are coming in.
*    Still trying to negotiate EZScoreboard for this year.
*    Last year insurance cost $2,5000; will cost $5,000 this year.
*    Gym costs are up this year.
*    Fees are lower elsewhere; can we compensate somehow?
*    Would like to end financial assistance and feel all players should pay something...$20?  Should require some type of verification that unable to pay.  Approximately 25% of players receive a full scholarship and pay zero.  Should amend scholarship program.  $2,000 budgeted and have always exceeded the amount allocated.
*    We should compare costs in Champlin Park and Osseo/Maple Grove.

SOFTBALL (Ed):
*    Games start next Monday, May 2.
*    Have 47 teams, numbers are slightly down.
*    The fields were locked at Noble.  They are never open in April.  Fields are only unlocked for scheduled games.
*    Budget has NOT been distributed or approved.
*    Softball has hired five high school students to umpire 10 and under games.

BASEBALL (Mike):
*    League play starts April 30 at Northwoods.
*    12/13 year olds are starting a week or so later, in May.
*    Wayne has Ed's schedule.  Wayne is almost done with the schedule.

CITY (Jay):
*    The council meeting went til midnight.
*    Okay with downpayment of $25,000 and funding.
*    Some council members indicated we should do our own upkeep - negotiate the lease with BPAA.
*    We will carry insurance for the interior contents.  The City will insure the building.
*    The next step is to have an architect work with the City to get bids.  There is a 30-day period and it will probably take til the end of May to get bids.
*    We will pay the utilities.
*    A lease has to be drawn up.
*    Figure it will take til end of July to build, with move in the fall.  Will tear down Central Park building after the move.

MISC:
*    Richard had a comment published in the Post.  Felt it doesn't belong in the paper; Richard should have directed his comments to the Board.
*    Heard from Jim Hoskins in early April.  The IRS wants more information, which is no problem.
*    We have a savings account (in addition to the checking account) of approximately $5,000.  Should this be used toward the storage shed?
*    Markus is looking for volunteers for parade planning.  Would like six or so; has two from baseball.
*    Tater Daze committee approached Ed/Softball to staff the dunk tank.  Will split the proceeds.

Meeting adjourned.

NEXT MEETING is Tuesday, May 24 at 8:30 p.m. (note start of summer hours).  Will be at Brooklyn Park Community Center, Senior Center Room 1.
