BPAA MINUTES FOR JANUARY, 2004

Meeting was held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesay, February 3, 2004, at Edinburgh. Abbreviated meeting.

* Dan Williams, John Koch, Jay Lotthammer, Markus Carter, Erline Carter, Ed Ampe, Gail Corbett, Dave Corbett, Dave Gulbrandson, John Lundquist, Mike Klein, Laurie Klein, Dede Boelter. Also present were BAB1 parents: LaTasha Jones, Kelly Stuart, Mark Laudal, Kal Cobbins, Julie Laudal, and Dawn Miller.

BASEBALL & SOFTBALL:

* Registration has begun. Sign-up February 28 and March 6. Or see web page for information.

* Parents above listed were present because of a complaint/concern. Their daughters play on a 7th grade girls' basketball team for BAB1. Coach is Ronald Jones. They were playing BAB2 on approx. January 24 at Brooklyn Junior High cafeteria. It was an intense game for players, coaches and spectators. BAB1 Coach Jones was thrown out of the game. The assistant coach was threatened with same. A BAB1 parent filed a complaint to Mark Sticha and Huntington. A day or so later Coach Jones was suspended for one game. Parents from the BAB2 team stood in front of BAB1 parents and asked them to stop cheering - made negative comments. Parents are concerned of harrassment, possibly racial. A BAB1 player was fouled out in the first half but they only know of three fouls she committed. Referee said she committed five fouls. Dan asked that he be sent an e-mail of the complaint and any other pertinent information.
