* Each player's fee
contributes $2 towards Gail and Erline's wages.
*
M/S/P
* Discussion -
There was a discrepancy in baseball's balance from July to August. This
comes from voided checks. Perhaps add a new column to attest for
this.
BASKETBALL - RICHARD:
* Am working with
Mohammed and EZScoreboard. Have a $1,500 contract. Can now link from
the website to the registration form. Takes about 5 minutes to get it
done. Working on ability to print on-line registration data. On the
plus side, 390 players are in e-mail database so have that
information.
* Proposed budget
for elementary program. Fees $75 per player. Referee costs are the
same. Anoka now charges $8 per court.
* Didn't have jr/sr
high budget with.
* Am in preliminary
stage for registration.
* Question re
scholarships. The City asks for players to pay 50% of the registration
fee. Will do the same.
* Looking at what
is the City's policy on returned checks.
* Discussion as to
credit card availability. Ed has a contact for online credit card payments
- like Paypal. Agreed all sports should have the same plan. Would
like to keep per-player cost at $1-$2, no more. It's usually 2-3% of
the transaction.
M/S/P for elementary players'
budget.
FOOTBALL - MARKUS:
* We have 5 super
light teams, 4 light midget teams, 4 heavyweight teams, and 3 cubs.
* Numbers are
down.
* A lot of kids are
playing junior high ball, not BPAA.
* Taking late
registrations now.
* Preview is on
September 11.
SOCCER - JOHN:
* Note we sent
flowers to Athena Carroll, who broke her arm.
* The fields look
great.
* There were a few
coaching problems - sent disciplinary letters.
* Tournament coming
up.
* No overlap
conflict with baseball this year. A little practice overlap.
BASEBALL - WAYNE:
* Baseball needs a
hot dog warmer.
* At Northwoods
fields a drunk drove through the parking lot, a pylon, fence, field and
backstops. It was a stolen car; they didn't catch the guy.
* Will meet with
Jay and Ed regarding the fields for next year.
* There is a Babe
Ruth competition meeting on September 13. We have a good start to making
it one organization.
* Have a few bills
to pay, concession stand fee to lee will be paid in September.
SOFTBALL - ED:
* Coaches' picnic
is the end of July.
* Need to deal with
storage shed issue.
STORAGE FACILITY -
DAN:
* As of September
1, 2005, Central Park's facility is gone. The City can cover our cost and
we can reimburse for 2-3 years, whatever it takes. Charge players a $10
facility fee.
* New storage
facility will be at Zane Park, at the SW corner of the parking lot. 50'
deep x 80' long x 20' high. For comparason, Central Park is approx. 30' x
40'.
* New storage
facility will have a canopy out front but not bathrooms or
concession.
* Will cost $1 a
year to lease it from the City.
* Each sport will
have its own area, divided from the others.
* Is solely for
BPAA's use.
* The City will put
a cement pad and electricity.
* Guessing our cost
will be in the $50,000 range. Don't know when we'll have to start paying
the City back.
* Will need
approval from the City Council - have to get it in the budget.
* Won't have to pay
utilities.
* Re security - it
will be somewhat secluded but will have some lights.
* Will have a main
key and each sport a separate key.
TAXES - DAN:
