2009 Baseball for 13 – 15 Year-Old Players
(preliminary information -
subject to change)
What
this means to families with 13–15 yr old baseball players:
You will have
opportunities to register your 13-15 year old players with Babe Ruth at either
the BPAA or Brooklyn Area Babe Ruth Registration dates.
13
Year-Old League Details:
Rules will be
comparable to MYAS
Gopher
State
league rules.
13 year-old play
will be on the ‘reduced’ size fields, 52’ pitching, and 75’ base paths.
All games will
have qualified, paid, umpires.
13 year-olds will
have their own house league (no more American and National leagues for 13 year
olds.)
14/15
Year-Old League Details:
14/15 year-old
play will be on regulation size fields, 60’ pitching and 90’ base paths.
All games will
have qualified, paid, umpires.
14 and 15
year-olds will be combined for a house league(s) pending numbers.
Registration Fees:
Special early
bird registration fee through 2/29/08 for 13-15 year olds…...
Regular
registration fee after 3/1/08 for 13-15 year olds ............................
Additional Travel
team fee (for those that make a travel team)...................
Additional Spring
League fee (for those trying out for a travel team)……...
Territory:
House League
games will be played within Brooklyn Park, Champlin, and Brooklyn Center, and
potentially other nearby communities, pending the number of registrations and
teams.
Traveling League
games will follow MYAS divisions, typically in the northwest metro.
Schedule:
Registration
dates
March evaluations will be scheduled for all 13 year old players and
new 14 and 15 year olds to establish a reference for City/House coaches to draft
teams following traveling team formation.
March/April
Spring Leagues will be scheduled for traveling team formation and for any
players wishing to knock the rust off early.
Regular season
games will be played between May 15th and July 16th.
House leagues
will have 22-25 games, 16 of which would be regular season, while 6-9 would be
tournament play.
